What exhaust would you recommend for a 2005 5.9 Cummins with compounds? It’s used as a daily driver and I pull a 34’ toy hauler. I’m also a carpenter, so it’s always getting a workout.

The heater core quick connect that comes on the EGR delete kit are junk. Go get a dorman plastic coupler and couple hose clamps. Enjoy the upgrades and be easy on the allison

I have an 07 ccsb 4x4 that I got for 1500 because the fan wire got caught in the fan blowing the ecm fuse. I drove the truck for 9 months in denial about the head gasket starting to leak. I just installed oringed heads and arp studs. I am into the truck for about 4 grand and absolutely love it.

I've never worked on a transmission before.. everyone always talked about how difficult it is.. I don't know if the 48RE is an example of a relatively easy trans to work on.. but it seemed easy to me. I'm pushing 1000 hp with all my mods and an agressive W/M injection with a 50/50 mix and have no issues but I had to change out a lot of factory trans parts. My upgraded torque converter alone was very expensive. My first attempt on my rebuild I had a part fail and had to remove the trans and go thru it again.. which sucked but after getting the broken part replaced and replacing my converter its been a beast. I had an ultra low stall converter fist time around and that was not so great for daily driving haha red lights wore my foot out. If yuor on the fence about rebuilding one I'm sure most people that have skills can handle it. That assembly lube in the video looks familiar haha

Nice clean 2nd Gen. Too bad he can't keep it in Cali. I heard the other day that they past a law that diesel trucks 2005 an older won't be able to get registered. That's a shame. Love the vid though brother.

Been building transmissions well over 35 years, you need to rethink using assembly lube in the pump. The viscosity of the lube you are using will cause the pump to self destruct, you are trying to squeeze jelly through the pump where fluid is made to go. Use a full synthetic engine oil it will mix with transmission fluid. It's a old trick when 618 came out to keep the OD planets together. We actually mixed 4 qts mobile one in the transmission fluid to help with the restrictions of the feed in output shaft before it got fixed by Dodge

Surprised you didn’t convince the guy to go ahead and do the head gasket and put that extra time doing springs and seals in on the truck towards doing it on the bench. If it’s legit 350rwhp and those miles it likely will be sweating coolant or oil soon.
